Welcome to the High School for Violin and Dance.  We are very happy that you have decided that HSVD was the best fit to meet the needs and interests of your child. We are committed to your child’s academic success and we look forward to working with you to ensure that your child gets a quality education and graduates with great memories.

 

Your parental support is crucial for the overall success of your child throughout these next four years. Getting involved by volunteering your time, coming out to monthly parent meetings, calling and asking questions, and making us aware of changes in your child’s life that may affect them academically are all ways that you can help us meet your child’s needs.

 

As the Parent Coordinator I will provide you with whatever support you need to help your son/daughter achieve their educational goals. I will be your point of contact during the school year. I hold monthly workshops around topics such as financial aid, how to save for college, subject area workshops to assist you in helping your child with their homework and more personal topics like how to talk to your teen about sex. I am open to suggestions so your feedback is very important. I often have guest speakers that come out to share information with you so your attendance is very important. You are automatically a member of the Parent Association so I encourage you to take an active role in participating. Your leadership is needed and welcome. A school culture is never complete without the presence of parents. Let’s work together to give our children the high school experience they deserve.
